I’m having trouble making a commitment to my own success. Deep down, I know I can achieve anything I work hard to do… its just that sometimes, something holds me back.

There is never enough time in the day. I work part time (but for a nonprofit I’m passionate about, so let’s not pretend I stick to part time hours), I have two little boys, a house that decided to let us know its getting on in years and needs attention, and a new puppy. Time is fleeting, and my time seems to be given out freely.

BUT.

I know I can do more. I know I can let the creative side take over and make some amazing, spectacular things! And I want to do so much, like:

  • Start a monthly sewing club
  • Teach kids sewing lessons after school
  • Write a book about home fashion sewing
  • Create a community of people that share a passion for crafts
  • And, and, and…

Phew! Writing those few things – admitting openly that I want to do them – was hard. So, I need to commit. To actually make myself do it. Will it be hard? Yes. Will I wish I could lay on my hammock and read a book instead of fill orders and write blog posts? For sure. But I believe the rewards for my work will outshine my temporary lack of relaxation.

Now… off to planning a blog calendar and figuring what the heck I’m going to share with you all along this wonderful, messy journey.

Oh, and here’s a cute picture of the new pup, Shelby (or Shelbster, as we typically call her). The humane society claims she’s part German Shepard, part Husky. Whatever she is, she is pure joy (98% of the time, at least).
